Iran Threatens to Target Key Middle East Bridges; Rising Tensions After US-Israel Strike
Tehran, April 03 (TNA) Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after Iran reportedly released a list of eight major strategic bridges across the region, warning of potential strikes. These bridges are considered critical for regional connectivity and transportation.
According to reports, Iran’s target list includes prominent structures such as the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Sea Bridge in Kuwait, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Al Maqta Bridge, and Sheikh Khalifa Bridge in the UAE, the King Fahd Causeway linking Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and Jordan’s King Hussein, Damia, and Abdoun bridges.
The development comes shortly after the United States and Israel allegedly carried out two airstrikes on the B1 Bridge in Karaj, Iran, on Thursday. The attack reportedly killed two people and completely destroyed the bridge. The B1 Bridge, inaugurated earlier this year, was regarded as the tallest bridge in the Middle East, stretching approximately 1,050 meters in length and standing 136 meters high, built at a cost of around $400 million.
Meanwhile, India raised concerns during an international virtual meeting aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that only Indian nationals have lost their lives in the crisis so far, with reports confirming the deaths of three Indian sailors working on foreign vessels.
