Budding Bangladesh Cricketer Mohammad Shojib Commits Suicide

Dhaka, Nov 16 (TNA) Budding Bangladesh cricketer Mohammad Shojib has committed suicide, police said on Monday. He was 21 and the suicide was committed in Durgapur.

Mohammed Shojib last played cricket for the Shinapukhur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier League in 2017-18. Showzib was also among the standby players in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Apart from this, Shojib also played three Youth ODIs against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the year 2017.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Khalid Mehmood was quoted by the local media as saying : "Very sad news. Can't believe it. He was an opening batsman and a medium pacer. He played for the Shinapukhur Cricket Club. Khalid Mehmood was the head coach of the academy in which Mohammed Shojib started training in Rajshahi."

Bangladesh's first class cricketer Tanmay Ghosh is also shocked by the death of Mohammed Shojib. Tanmay Ghosh said, "I always believed that Mohammad Shojib will play cricket for Bangladesh for a long time. He was very hardworking. I am surprised to hear the news of Shojib."
