Indian Navy Ships Visit Egypt As Part Of Five-Nation Overseas Deployment
Cairo, May 8 (TNA) The ships of the First Training Squadron visited port of Safaga, Egypt as part of five-nation overseas deployment. During the visit, the ships participated in various interactions between the two Navies. Meeting with Rear Admiral Mohamed Nabil, Commander of the Red Sea Naval Base, cross-visits to ships by the delegations of both the Navies, training capsules on operational subjects and a friendly football match between the two navies were the highlights of the visit.
The ships participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with Egyptian Naval Ships Abu Qir and Zuber Ibn El Awam on departure from Safaga. A pre-sailing conference for MPX was earlier conducted onboard ENS Abu Qir. During the exercise, the ships undertook various coordinated multi-ship evolutions at sea including communication and maneuvering exercise, and replenishment approaches to enhance interoperability between the two Navies.
The exercise culminated with the traditional steam past between the participating ships.
