Cairo, May 8 (TNA) The ships of the First Training Squadron visited port of Safaga, Egypt as part of five-nation overseas deployment. During the visit, the ships participated in various interactions between the two Navies. Meeting with Rear Admiral Mohamed Nabil, Commander of the Red Sea Naval Base, cross-visits to ships by the delegations of both the Navies, training capsules on operational subjects and a friendly football match between the two navies were the highlights of the visit.

The ships participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with Egyptian Naval Ships Abu Qir and Zuber Ibn El Awam on departure from Safaga. A pre-sailing conference for MPX was earlier conducted onboard ENS Abu Qir. During the exercise, the ships undertook various coordinated multi-ship evolutions at sea including communication and maneuvering exercise, and replenishment approaches to enhance interoperability between the two Navies.
