First-Ever Pancreas And Kidney Transplant Procedure Performed In The Armed Forces

New Delhi, June 6 (TNA) In a remarkable feat, the Transplant team of Command Hospital, Chandimandir performed the first-ever Pancreas transplant procedure in the Armed Forces.

The transplant team successfully harvested the Pancreas & Kidney from the brain-dead father of an Indian Army soldier, who consented to this noble cause in his hour of grief and later these organs were transplanted in a needy patient.

This is the first time in the Armed Forces, that Pancreas has been harvested & successfully transplanted in a medical student providing him a new lease of life & also ushers a ray of hope to the millions in our country.
