Zero Covid Deaths In Uttar Pradesh In Last 24-Hours, Lucknow Reports Just One New Case

Lucknow, August 8 (TNA) Good news on the Coronavirus pandemic came on Sunday as Uttar Pradesh reported zero deaths across the state in the last 24-hours. According to a government spokesman fresh cases were just 58, signalling a major ebb in the disease which has so far killed 22773 people in the state ever since it came calling in March 2020.

49 people recovered from the disease in the past 24-hours and were sent home. Situation has drastically improved in the state capital as Lucknow reported just one new case.

Kushinagar however reported a high of 20 fresh cases. Mathura, Mainpuri, Rae Bareli, Ghaziabad, Ghazipur, Sonebhadra, Sultanpur, Deoria, Barabanki, Jhansi, Kanpur rural Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Azamgarh, Hapur, Hardoi, Rampur have reported zero cases in the last 24-hours.

Five cases have been reported from the holy city of Prayagraj, three from Kanpur city, two from Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi, two each from Noida and Gorakhpur, Meerut reported 3 fresh cases and Maharajganj also reported three new cases.

While the cases are going down drastically, the state government has appealed to people to stay vigilant and stick to Covid appropriate behaviour like wearing masks when outside, keeping a safe distance, sanitising and washing hands while also getting vaccinated at the first opportunity.
