Yogi Gives Away Cheques Of Rs 10 Lakh Each To Families Of Scribes Who Died Of Covid

Lucknow, July 31 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday gave away financial compensation cheques to the families of the journalists of the state who passed away due to the Covid infection. An amount of Rs 10 lakh was provided to the dependents of each journalist who died due to Corona.

Financial assistance was given to the dependents of 50 deceased journalists. During the program, a symbolic two minute silence was also observed in memory of the deceased scribes. Speaking on the occasion, the saffron-robed chief minister said that the media, as a vigilant watchdog of the society, draws the attention of the government towards the burning issues.

Expressing gratitude to the President of News Broadcasters Association and Chief Editor of India TV, Rajat Sharma for suggesting that a special campaign should be conducted to provide vaccine protection to the media personnel, the Chief Minister said that for the media personnel in Noida and Lucknow Special vaccination centers were set up for corona vaccination.

Through these, he added, 25 thousand media personnel and their families were given vaccine doses.
