Woman Principal Shot Dead In Gorakhpur, Daughter Critically Injured

GORAKHPUR || In a shocking incident, a school principal and her daughter were shot at in broad daylight in Basharatpur, Shahpur. The duo was rushed to a nearby medical facility but the mother could not be saved and she was pronounced dead on arrival. The daughter Delasia (16) continues to be critical.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Nivedita Major alias Davina. She was going on a scooty to her mother-in-law's place in Ramajanki Nagar East when bike borne assailants opened fire at her.

The mother-daughter fell on the ground and the assailants escaped the crime scene at the aashiyana turn in Rajiv nagar.

Nivedita was the head mistress at Ahirauli Primary School in Kushinagar district. Police have picked up a suspected neighbour living near the maternal home for questioning. SSP Jogendra Kumar and other police officers reached the spot and enquired about the crime from the locals and passers by.
