With Polls Over, UP Reinitiates Process To Weed Out Tainted Policemen

Lucknow, March 13 (TNA) With the state assembly elections behind their back and the incumbent government retaining power, the Uttar Pradesh police will soon show the door to tainted policemen, according to a source. The ADG Establishment has sought details from all the districts to take forward the process of compulsory retirement.

ADG Establishment Sanjay Singhal, an official informed, has summoned the details of such police personnel, who have completed the proceedings of the Screening Committee for providing compulsory retirement.

On March 31, 2021, the process of screening was directed by examining the service records of group C and D policemen who had completed 50 years or more. The DGP Headquarters had summoned the details of all such cases by November 30, 2021 after completing the process of screening through the appointing authority.

Now after the assembly elections are over, the DGP Headquarters has again asked for details of the action taken in this regard. The ADG establishment has given strict instructions to provide details of the screening proceedings by March 20. After which further action will be taken to show the tainted policemen the way out of the department.
