Vijay Singh Meena Named Kanpur Police Commissioner

Lucknow, January 13 (TNA) After a nod from the Election Commission of India, 1996-batch IPS officer Vijay Singh Meena has been posted as the new police commissioner of Kanpur. He is presently posted as the ADG in Vigilance.

Meena has also served as the IG of Varanasi Range for a long time before this. Last year, after the promotion of ADG he was shifted from Varanasi to Vigilance as ADG. On January 8, the Kanpur Commissioner of Police of Kanpur, Asim Arunannounced that he was jumping into political arena and that he had taken VRS.
