Uttar Pradesh Tops The Country In Lumpy Vaccination

Lucknow, Oct 27 (TNA) In yet another feather in the hat of Uttar Pradesh, the state has ranked at the top in vaccination of cattle against the dreaded lumpy disease. Gujarat is in second place. So far 1.5 crore animals affected by Lumpy have been vaccinated. This achievement has been achieved in just two months. The recovery rate has gone up to 95 percent.

Giving this information, a government spokesperson said that on the lines of corona, the campaign was started to control the deadly disease like lumpy which was spreading rapidly in animals. At present, 32 districts of the state are affected by Lumpy disease. Of these, about 1.05 lakh animals are suffering from lumpy disease.

In view of this, treatment was done by sending door-to-door veterinarians, due to which more than 1 lakh animals have become disease free so far. Team-9 was formed by the department, whose senior nodal officers broke the lumpy cycle by campaigning in the affected Bareilly, Moradabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Agra and Aligarh divisions.

A target has been set to vaccinate 1.60 crore animals by October end. At the same time, the state's livestock farmers and farmers have been advised by the government to be especially vigilant about lumpy in November.
