Uttar Pradesh Showcases Its Investment Landscape To Investors Of Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture

Lucknow, January 16 (TNA) The Embassy of India in Japan organised a landmark virtual interaction on Monday at the VCC Auditorium, Tokyo featuring the blooming partnership between India and Japan. On this occasion, in a pivotal virtual presentation, Sunita Mohanty, Vice President of Invest India, elucidated the investment opportunities arising from the flourishing partnership.

The session gained further momentum with a comprehensive presentation by KV Raju, Economic Advisor to the UP Chief Minister. Representing Uttar Pradesh, during his address on "Destination Uttar Pradesh," KV Raju, underscored state's remarkable contributions, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as an economic powerhouse, contributing 9.2% to India's GDP. He highlighted the impressive economic growth of Uttar Pradesh at 14%, an 11.2% increase in exports over five years and a robust infrastructure network.

Uttar Pradesh, with four operational international airports, stands as a favourite destination for investors, with its policy-based governance, with more than 26 sectoral policies and dedicated efforts to attract FDI. Raju added, that state has a separate dedicated investment promotion policy for FDI and Fortune Global & India 500 Companies.

He further detailed about the availability of “Huge land bank at key economic zones and along expressways and industrial corridors with more than 46,000 acres GIS enabled land bank.” In a detailed presentation, it was informed that in Uttar Pradesh, facilitation of investors is accelerated through digital governance and interventions, focusing on the entire investment life cycle management to enhance the business environment.

This dynamic exchange marks a significant stride in the India-Japan partnership, fostering collaborations and showcasing the diverse opportunities available to investors in the vibrant landscapes of Yamanashi Prefecture and Uttar Pradesh.

This includes the establishment of investor facilitation portals, like Nivesh Mitra and Nivesh Sarathi, these platforms serve as an interactive online tool for investors during their course of investment in the state.

The virtual interaction with Japanese team of Yamanashi Prefecture comprised of illuminating presentations, including key figures such as Hiroki Nakazawa, President, M/s Yamanashi Hydrogen Company, Takuya Miyatake, Manager of the Global Business Division, M/s Nipro Corporation. Yuichiro Morozumi, President of Tokyo Electron Technology Solutions Limited, shared valuable insights, adding to the rich tapestry of collaborations.

Earlier, the event was attended virtually by dignitaries and enthusiasts alike, commenced with a warm welcome note by Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan followed by a captivating video screening of Chandrayaan 3 and highlights from the Voices of Global South Summit, followed by a presentation on Yamanashi Prefecture, shedding light on its business and tourism opportunities, skilfully presented by Hisashi Yano, Director, Culture, Tourism & Sport Department Tourism Promotion Division, Govt. of Yamanashi Prefecture.
