UPSRTC Buses Catch Fire After Head-On Collision In Hamirpur, Three Dozen Injured

Hamirpur, April 28 (TNA) Over three dozen persons were injured on Thursday when two buses of the UPSRTC collided head on near Kalautir village of Sadar Kotwali on Rath-Hamirpur road. The collision was so strong that both the buses caught fire. Passengers in the buses broke the glass and saved their lives by jumping from the window.

All of the 36 passengers who were injured in the incident were brought to the district hospital by ambulance. Where the condition of five was critical, they were referred to Kanpur. On the information, the police and fire brigade reached and extinguished the fire in the buses. The incident is said to have taken place due to the effort of a bus driver to save a buffalo on the road.
