UP Sweats As Mercury Climbs To New High, Agra Hottest In The State

Lucknow, March 29 (TNA) The heat wave has intensified across Uttar Pradesh much before the actual summers, so much so that day temperatures in many parts of the state have breached 40 degrees celsius. Agra, with a high of 41 degrees celsius was the hottest in the state on Monday.

On Monday, the temperature of the Taj city reached 41.4 degree Celsius, which is the highest since the year 1892. Five years ago, on March 28, 2017, the temperature had reached 39.6 degrees, which was a record, but on Monday, two days before the alert, the heat wave broke this record too. After 130 years, March has faced such heat conditions.

The weatherman had issued a heat wave alert from March 30, but it has started two days before. According to the forecast center of the Meteorological Department, this week the temperature can remain around 42 degrees.
