UP Singes In Unprecedented Heat Wave, Lucknow Breaks 24-Year-Old Record

Lucknow, May 27 (TNA) There is no respite in sight for heat-struck Uttar Pradesh for the next few days. After the day temperature, now mercury has started rising in the night as well. If we look at the condition of the beginning of Nautapa and the second day of Jeth, the temperature in most parts of the state has become higher than normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of any change in the night temperature for the next five days, while the day temperature will also keep increasing gradually. According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Zonal Meteorological Centre, at present there are indications of heat wave and extreme heat.

Agra again became the hottest on Saturday with a maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees. A direct increase of 4 degrees in temperature has been recorded here. The temperature here was recorded at 41.2 degrees Celsius on Friday. Whereas the night temperature remains almost normal at 28.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum mercury in Orai was 45 degrees compared to 43.8 degrees Celsius last Friday.

The night temperature here crossed 29 degrees. The temperature in the entire state ranged between 41 degrees to 45.2 degrees. It was recorded up to 4 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature was highest in Lakhimpur Kheri at 32 degrees Celsius. In many areas including Kanpur, Etawah, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Fatehgarh, the night temperature remained 30 degrees or more.

In many areas it was also recorded between 29 and 30 degrees. In Lucknow, the night temperature equaled that of the year 2000 and after 24 years the temperature reached 31.3 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, such a hot night has happened only after 2000. The day temperature in Lucknow was 41.7 degrees Celsius.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, the weather will be dry in the entire state. Winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 35 km will continue to create a heat wave. There are chances of severe heat wave in western UP, there is a warning of heat wave in eastern Uttar Pradesh also. There may be hot nights in many areas of the state.
