UP Remains Fogged For Third Consecutive Day, Cold-Wave Intensifies

Lucknow, December 12 (TNA) The weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh continued to be inclement on Saturday as fog has been reported from most parts of the state. The onset of early fog has been compounded by the light rains in some parts of the state and neighbouring hill state of Uttarakhand.

There has been rain in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar. The sudden drop in temperature has been attributed to the activation of western disturbances. The Meteorological Department has forecast an intense cold wave in the entire state in the next one or two days.

Director of the Meteorological Department JP Gupta has said that the areas of western UP which have been raining for the past 24-hours should expect some more downpour. Along with this, due to the rain in western UP, the cold will increase in the next 24 to 48 hours in other districts of the state.

Along with western UP, light rain has also been recorded in Varanasi, Jhansi, Najibabad and Meerut in the last 24 hours. According to the data received by the Meteorological Department till 10:00 am, the three cities which recorded the lowest minimum temperatures are. Banda 9 ° C, Etawah 9.6 ° C and Najibabad 10 ° C.
