UP Lockdown Extended Till Next Monday Now
Lucknow, May 5 (TNA) The ongoing lockdown in Uttar Pradesh has been extended till Monday, May 10, an official said on Wednesday. The move stems from the fact that there is no let up in the fresh COVID cases across the state. Kanpur in fact reported 66 deaths on Tuesday, the highest ever.
Officials said the decision to extend the lockdown was taken by the chief minister Yogi Adityanath, after consultation with medical experts and the recently-constituted Team 9.
The weekend curfew was clamped last week Friday and extended till Tuesday morning and then till Thursday. Now it has been further extended till next Monday.
