"57% Of Eligible Population In Uttar Pradesh Has Got The First Covid Jab"

Lucknow, Sep 28 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said that 57% of the eligible population in the state has received one dose of the Covid vaccine. This, a state government spokesman said, equalled to around 8.20 crore people.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials of the health department to expedite the process furtehr to innoculate people with the second dose. Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in the Covid vaccination drive with more than 10.39 crore vaccines. On Monday, 36 lakh 68 thousand 183 people got vaccine cover in one day.

This is the highest number of Covid vaccinations done in a day in any state of the country. As per government officials, 31 districts of the state (Aligarh, Amethi, Amroha, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Balrampur, Barabanki, Bijnor, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj , Mahoba, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Sant Kabirnagar, Shamli, Shravasti and Sonbhadra) now do not have a single Covid case.
