UP Govt Yet To Respond To Request Of Dr. Kafeel Khan To Revoke His Suspension, Put Him On COVID Duty

Lucknow, April 21 (TNA) Suspended from the BRD medical college in Gorakhpur for alleged dereliction of duty resulting in the death of many infants owing to paucity of oxygen, Dr Kafeel Khan who wrote to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting him to revoke his suspension amid Coronavirus second wave and allow him to work for critically ill patients is yet to get a response.

On Tuesday he had written to the CM, citing his 15 years experience in intensive care unit and expressing his desire to serve COVID-19 patients. He had also added that he could be suspended again once the Pandemic crisis blows over.

Currently he is working on #DoctorsOnRoad with group of civic-minded doctors travelling to the hinterland to assess the ground realities and offer treatment and relief to patients, offering free medicines to those in need and spreading critical messaging on social distancing and Covid appropriate behaviour.
