UP Govt Relaxes Norms, Now 100 People Allowed To Attend Weddings

Lucknow, Sep 19 (TNA) With a steady decline in cases of Coronavirus in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday allowed an increase in the number of people who could attend a marriage to 100. This number was earlier 50 owing to Covid restrictions.

In an order addressed to all district magistrates, the additional chief secretary (Home) Avaneesh Kumar Awasthi has said that the number of people allowed to gather in weddings - both open and clsoed places, has now be increased to 100.

Organisers of such events however have been asked to keep the seat arrangements as per old SOP's and to ensure that protocols such as social distancing are maintained.
