UP Government Serves Show Cause Notice To IPS Amitabh Thakur For Tweeting 'Wasooli List'

LUCKNOW || The Uttar Pradesh Government has issued show cause notice to IPS officer Amitabh Thakur for having tweeted the alleged rate list of Kotwali Mughalsarai in Chandauli district.

The Notice says that Amitabh violated the Social Media policy and made these facts public, which is administrative misconduct. Making public of the list lso gave opportunity to these persons involved in illegal activities to look for escape routes.

Tweeting the alleged wasuli list of Mughalsarai police station, Amitabh had said that as per this handwritten list, the total income of Kotwali Mughalsarai police station is Rs 35.64 lakh along with Rs 12,500 per vehicle from 15 persons and Rs 4000 per vehicle from the butchers in animal flesh trade.

This includes Rs 25 lakhs from Ganja shops. He had sought enquiry into the matter. The Vigilance enquiry has confirmed illegal collection and illegal activities as stated in the Wasooli list.

Amitabh’s wife and social activist Nutan Thakur called this show cause notice extremely unfortunate, saying that while the Government should have acted against those involved in illegal activities, it is instead harassing one who brought corruption in public.
