UP Government Gives Away Cycles To Class 10, 12th Going Children Of Labourers

Lucknow, January 9 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government is giving away cycles to class 10, 12th going children of labourers under the "Sant Ravidas Shiksha Sahayata Yojana" to promote and assist the sons and daughters of poor and labourers in the field of education, an official informed on Saturday.

Under this scheme, bicycles are being given to study and go to school in next class after passing class 10th or 12th of sons and daughters of construction workers registered with the board. Along with this, they are also being given a monthly scholarship. So far 1454 bicycles have been distributed across the state at a cost of Rs. 6121346.

Under the Sant Ravidas Education Assistance Scheme, 245 bicycles have been distributed so far in Agra, 272 in Gorakhpur, 184 in Pipri, 172 in Lucknow, 188 in Deoria, 184 in Mirzapur.

While giving this information, the Minister of Labor and Employment, Swami Prasad Maurya said that the children of labourers also become doctors, engineers and officers by studying, the state government with full responsibility for this, maximum two children of construction workers under this scheme in class-01 Monthly scholarship is given for studies in higher education.

He informed that an annual scholarship of Rs 1800 for classes 1 to 5, Rs 2400 for classes 6 to 10 and Rs 3000 for classes 11 to 12 is being given annually. Similarly, scholarships are also given to these children for ITI, professional, courses.

Children of labourers are given scholarship of Rs 12000 per year in higher education and Rs 24000 per year in getting post-graduate education. Similarly, a scholarship of Rs 8000 per month is being given for medical education and Rs 12000 per month for research.
