UP DGP Expresses Displeasure On Police Personnel Not Being Relieved After Transfers, Calls For Compliance By August 10

Lucknow, August 4 (TNA) The Director General of Police (DGP) office has taken a grim view of the fact that at many places, transferred police personnel have yet not been relieved from their present duties. ADG Establishment Sanjay Singhal has written a letter to all ADG Zones and Police Commissioners in this regard, seeking a report on compliance of the order by August 10.

The DGP Headquarters has called for a report within a week, expressing strong displeasure over the personnel transferred a year ago not being relieved. In the letter issued by the ADG, it has been said that last year, writ petitions were filed in the Allahabad High Court by the concerned personnel for not relieving the transferred personnel on time, but delaying the discharge, in which the court dismissed the delayed discharge.

Due to this, the letter says, certain transfer orders were set aside. The DGP Headquarters had sought information about such personnel on July 25, which has not been made available to the Headquarters at present. The ADG said in his order that such personnel should be relieved immediately, whose transfer order has not completed one year.
