UP Cop Files Plaint Against Social Media Giant Facebook For Disabling Account

LUCKNOW || Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has filed a plaint regarding permanently disabling of his Facebook account with URL https://Facebook.com/amitabhthakurlko. Civil Judge Junior Division Lucknow Ila Chaudhary has fixed October 3, 2020 for hearing on maintainability of the plaint.

On September 24, 2020, Facebook had temporarily disabled Amitabh’s account, after which Amitabh had presented his review before Facebook, but Facebook rejected his request and permanently disabled his account on November 27 saying that he did not comply with the community standards of Facebook.

Calling this decision of Facebook as improper and incorrect, Amitabh said in his petition that Facebook has not explained how he had violated the Community standards. He was always extremely particular about the Community standards of Facebook.

He said this decision seems to be guided by false information from vested quarters. Hence he has asked for immediately restoring his Facebook account, explaining reasons for this sudden disabling of account and giving a reasonable compensation.
