UP Becomes The First State To Make Five Crore Ayushman Cards

Lucknow, March 2 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh has crossed the mark of making more than five crore Ayushman cards. In the last year, more than 2.80 crore Ayushman cards have been made under this scheme in UP. Uttar Pradesh has become the first state to make Ayushman cards in such large numbers.

The Ayushman Bhava campaign is being run in the country, under this, 1.94 crore Ayushman cards have been made in the state in eight months from 17 September 2023 till now which is the highest in the entire country based on the number of Ayushman cards made under this campaign.

Sangeeta Singh, CEO of the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services, said that making five crore Ayushman cards is an important achievement of the State Health Agency working under the state government.

Earlier, the average number of patients admitted per day under this scheme was two thousand, which has increased to an average of about eight thousand per day. He informed that more than 5000 private and government hospitals have been empanelled in the state for the treatment of beneficiaries of the scheme.

These include treatment for common diseases as well as serious diseases like cancer, heart disease, organ transplant etc. The state will improve in this further and will also make regular improvements in health indices.
