UP Becomes First State To Launch e-Pension Portal, 11 Lakh Retired Pensioners To Benefit

Lucknow, May 1 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday launched an e-pension portal which is likely to benefit 11 lakh pensioners of the state. The portal has been designed for timely payment of pension and gratuity to the retiring employees in Uttar Pradesh.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi congratulated 11 lakh pensioners of the state. UP is the first state in the country to launch e-pension portal. According to an official spokesperson, this pension portal has been prepared by the Finance Department. In this, the process of pension etc. will start with the application of the employee before six months of retirement and orders for payment of pension, gratuity etc. will be issued in the remaining three months before retirement.

In the system implemented till now, the pensioner had to collect all the records and run from pillar to post to get the pension. Pension forms and service records of the pensioner were sent by post to the PPO issuing authority. It used to take a lot of time.

If any deficiency was found, it was sent back to the concerned office by post and from there the above records were again sent to the PPO issuer after rectification of the error. There was a lack of transparency in this system. After the implementation of the new system, pension and gratuity will be easily paid on retirement.
