Unidentified Assailants Open Fire On Bhim Army Chief In Deoband, Bullet Grazes His Waist

Lucknow, June 28 (TNA) Unidentified assailants opened fire on Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar in Deoband on Wednesday. He has been hitin his waist and has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. The attackers managed to escape and a manhunt has been launhced to nabe them, an official said.

According to the information, Bhim Army Chief was going to some program in his car when he was attacked. On information, the police reached the spot and has begun investigating the incident.

"The bullet grazed his stomach. His condition is stable, he is out of danger. Police will investigate the matter and will take all the necessary action...," says Dr Vipin Tada, SSP Saharanpur.

SP (Rural) Sagar Jain informed that Chandrashekhar Azad had gone to meet someone in Deoband's Gandhi Colony. While leaving from there, two youths fired at him, in which he was injured due to shrapnel, he added. The assailants fled in a car. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the attackers came in a Haryana number car.

The situation is being monitored by the DGP at the Police Headquarters in the state capital and all efforts are on to apprehend the assailant, an official said.
