Umesh Pal Murder Case: Bail Plea Of Atique’s Brother-in-law Akhlaq And Driver Rejected

Prayagraj, August 25 (TNA) The District Court's Special Court (SCST) has rejected the bail plea of Atique’s brother-in-law Akhlaq and his driver. It was said on behalf of the petitioners that they are innocent and are being implicated under a conspiracy.

The police are implicating him because he is a relative of Atique and another driver. Atiq's brother-in-law's advocate said that he is a government doctor in Meerut and he doesn't have any criminal history.

The court however said that both the allegations are of a serious nature therefore they are not entitled to get bail. It was said on behalf of the petitioners that they are innocent and are being implicated under a conspiracy. Umesh Pal was murdered on 24 February 2023 by his henchmen including Atique Ahmed's son.

In the case, an FIR has been registered in Dhumanganj police station under various sections including 302 of the IPC. Police has so far filed a charge sheet against several accused in this case. Both the accused are lodged in jail.
