Lucknow, July 28 (TNA) Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti visited the ailing BJP veteran Kalyan Singh at the SGPGI in the state capital on Wednesday. The saffron-robed BJP leader, who has always held Singh in very high regard, almost as an elder brother, got emotional on seeing Kalyan Singh incubated and in distress.
She tweeted later on how a storm of emotions and memories overwhelmed her as she spent sometime with the former UP chief minister, who has been in hospital for over a month now. Kalyan Singh has been on ventilator for the past eight days now and his condition is showing no signs of improvement. Bharti spoke to senior doctors attending on the ailing leader.
Bharti is one of the closest leaders of Kalyan Singh, both coming from the Lodh caste and Kalyan Singh almost being a mentor for her. Later she also termed Singh as a "rare politician" and prayed that he overcomes this serious conditions to come back to normal life.
She also called the enormous contribution of Singh in the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement, as a result of which the dream of millions of Hindus of the construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya has been realised.
