Two Dozen Injured As Double Decker Bus Falls In Ditch At Moradabad, Driver Flees

Moradabad, August 11 (TNA) Over two dozen passengers on board a double-decker bus were seriously injured late on Tuesday night when the vehicle hit a divider at high speed and fell in a road side ditch.

According to the police, the bus was going from Sitapur to Panipat. There were 130 passengers in the bus at the time of the mishap occurred near Sihare Baje village under the Mundhapandey police station.

The injured were rushed to medical facilities in Rampur and Moradabad while ten critically injured have been referred to a higher medical facility for immediate treatment. "The injured have been admitted to the district hospitals in Moradabad and Rampur" an official informed.

Police officer nawab Singh informed that the driver has fled the accident site and is it alleged that he had smoked some contraband at the time of dinner at a road side eatery. Police is on a lookout for him.
