Two-day Inter-School Skating Competition ‘Glide to Glory’ begins at DPS
Lucknow, May 4 (TNA) A two-day Inter-School Skating Competition titled “Glide to Glory” commenced at Delhi Public School, Gomti Nagar Extension on Monday. The event, organised in collaboration with Northwest Sports Academy, saw enthusiastic participation from over 500 students representing more than 50 schools, including prominent institutions such as CMS, DPS, Modern, and SKD Academy.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Headmistress Nazish Zafar, Principal Roopam Saluja, Neetu Singh, Lucknow Division Coordinator Neeraj Srivastava, and Manoj Verma, Assistant Deputy Controller, Civil Defence.
During the competition, participants displayed exceptional skill, balance, and speed in the skating categories of Quad Inline, Toys Inline, and Adjustable across the Under-6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 age groups. The contests added significant excitement to the event. CMS delivered an outstanding performance on the first day.
According to organiser Neeraj Srivastava, the objective of the event was to promote sportsmanship, build confidence among students, and encourage them to remain physically active.
General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Roller Skating Association, D.S. Rathore, and President, Sandeep Bhatnagar, extended their best wishes to the organisers and participants for the grand event. They expressed hope that athletes from Lucknow would win medals in future competitions and bring pride to their families and the city on the global stage.
