Trial Of Shooter Trio Who Gunned Down Mafia Don Atique Ahmed And Ashraf To Begins Today

Prayagraj, May 2 (TNA) With charges already framed against the shooters who gunned down mafia don Atique Ahmed, the trial is set to begin today. The shooter trio will be presented before the court through video conferencing, an official privy to the case informed.

Atique Ahmed and his younger brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf were murdered by three shooters on April 15, 2023, at around 9.15 pm. The mafia brothers were brought to police custody for medical treatment at Calvin Hospital when the three shooters, who had arrived posing as media persons, killed the mafia duo in the full glare of the media and then surrendered on the spot.

The district court will preside over the trial against shooters Arun Maurya, Sunny Singh and Lovelesh Tiwari. The case is being heard by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar Gautam of Fast Track Court. District government advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari, appearing for the prosecution, said that several dates were fixed for the framing of charges for almost a year, but the charges were framed on Monday.

The three accused were produced through video conferencing from Chitrakoot jail. After the shootout, the three were sent to Pratapgarh jail but later, citing security reasons, they were sent to Chitrakoot jail.
