To Avoid Distraction, UP Police Bans Cops From Using Smartphones During Ram Mandir Inauguration And Republic Day Duties

Lucknow, January 6 (TNA) At a time when vigilance has been stepped up across the state in the run up to the Ram Mandir grand event on January 22, to ensure that they are not distracted, the Uttar Pradesh Police has banned on-duty cops from using smartphones.

It has been said that keeping in mind that there should be no negligence on the part of policemen, they should not use smartphones. In the letter issued by DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, it has been mandated that it has often been seen that during field duty, most of the policemen use smartphones excessively, due to which they do not concentrate and do duty with full alertness.

All Police Commissioners, SSPs and SPs have been instructed to ensure its compliance. It has been said that on January 22 in Ayodhya and on January 26, policemen will be deployed on security duty at sensitive and important places. Senior police officers have been asked to duly instruct the policemen deployed on such duty not to use smartphones unnecessarily while on duty.
