Three Killed In Road Mishap On Delhi-Dehradun Highway
Muzaffarnagar, Nov 27 (TNA) Three persons, including a kid, were killed in an accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in Muzaffaranar in the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday. The accident happened between an Alto car and a Brezza. A a loaded canter also overturned,injuring two. There was a massive jam on the highway following the mishap.
According to the police, a canter loaded with goods was going towards Delhi from Haridwar in the night. Suddenly the canter went uncontrolled and overturned on the road going from Delhi to Dehradun by crossing the divider near village Rathedi bypass of New Mandi Kotwali area. Meanwhile, a Breza car coming at a high speed from Delhi collided with a canter, then collided with an Alto car and got badly damaged.
The people riding in it got trapped inside. On the information of passers-by, Mandi Kotwali police reached the spot. Police took out the people trapped in the car with the help of passersby.
Mandi Kotwali in-charge Mahavir Singh said that Gautam Budh Nagar resident Ashish Awasthi (28) and his wife Nupur Awasthi (26) along with his brother Deepak Awasthi's daughter Kashmi (2) had died in the accident even before being taken out of the car. Deepak Awasthi and his wife Ratna Tripathi were also injured. The injured were sent to the district hospital for treatment. Both were referred to higher center. SP Traffic Kuldeep Singh also reached the spot and inquired about the matter.
Both the families are originally from Reeva, Madhya Pradesh and currently live in Gorinisha Colony, Gautam Budh Nagar.
