‘The Kashmir Files’ Gets Tax Free Status In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, March 15 (TNA) Acclaimed film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been accorded tax free status by the Uttar Pradesh government. Orders for the same were given by the care taker chief minister Yogi Adityanath after demands from various groups that the film be given tax free status in India’s most populous state.

UP is the seventh state to make the film tax free. Earlier, the governments of Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tripura and Goa have also made the film tax free. Overall, Vivek Agnihotri's film 'The Kashmir Files' has been made tax free in 7 states till now.

The film based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 in Jammu and Kashmir is being critically acclaimed across the country by cine goers and film lovers. Vivek Agnihotri's film 'The Kashmir Files' tells the story of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee their homes because of terrorists. This film has brought to the fore the end of the atrocities committed on Kashmiri Pandits.

The film directed by Vivek Agnihotri has veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Aman Iqbal, Darshan Kumar, Chinmay Mandelkar, Bhasha Sumbali, Mrinal Kulkarni and Prakash Belawadi.
