Thanks To An Alumni, 11th Grader From AMU’s STS School To Graduate From Madison East High School, USA
Aligarh, Sep 24 (TNA) Mohammad Shadab, a grade XI (Arts) student of STS School, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), will now be completing his 12th grade from the Madison East High School, Wisconsin, USA. He will be receiving a High School diploma from this school on June 10, 2022.
Thanks to AMU alumni, well-wishers, the Moroccan host family, and the school for fulfilling Mohammad's dream.
On April 28, 2021, Mohammed Shadab son of a motor mechanic reached out to Masood Akhtar, an AMU Alumnus living in Madison, Wisconsin, USA said, "After coming back from the US I feel like I could explore and learn some more things and could continue on the path of success, but unfortunately my scholarship was only for one year. I will always be grateful to Mr Masood Akhtar for lending a helping hand; I am genuinely indebted to all including AMU Administration for encouraging me”.
“People need support to get through the challenges of life; I will surely pay back to my Alma Mater,’’ he added. Mohammed's background, achievements, and high ambitions motivated Akhtar to take the lead in helping Mohammed. He reached out to the Principal of Madison East High School and got the assurance that the school will award Mohammad a high school diploma if Mohammed completes 12 grades from this High School.
Akhtar also approached a Moroccan family who lives close to this High School to see if they are interested in hosting Mohammed, the family graciously agreed.
AMU Alumni and well-wishers came forward to financially support Mohammad and fulfil his dream. Sufficient funds were raised immediately to cover his annual tuition fee, visa expenses, airline ticket, health insurance, living expenses, etc.
On November 15, 2021, Mohammad was granted a student visa at the U.S. Consulate in Delhi. He will arrive at the O'Hare airport in Chicago on September 25. The Moroccan host family plans to pick him up from the airport.
If we all work together as we did in Mohammad's case, we can build the future of so many students, said Akhtar, an entrepreneur said.
Congratulating Mohammad Shadab, the AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor said creating an engaged, supportive alumni network is crucial to an institution’s success, supporting or sponsoring a needy student is the best way to pay back to the Alma Mater.
