Swiss Ambassador Meets UP Chief Minister, Hails Him For Covid Management
Lucknow, February 9 (TNA) The Ambassador of Switzerland in India, Dr Ralf Heckner paid a courtesy call on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in the state capital on Tuesday. On this occasion, deliberations were held to further strengthen relations between Switzerland and India, especially Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister said that India and Switzerland have strong ties. Inviting Switzerland to invest in Uttar Pradesh, he said that there are unlimited possibilities of investment here. Various sectoral policies have been prescribed by the state government with an aim to encourage investment, he informed the visiting dignitary and added how a positive and conducive atmosphere has been set up in the state to attract investment from abroad.
Uttar Pradesh, it was further elaborated, occupies the second position in the 'Ease of Doing Business' rankings across the country. The Chief Minister said that two international airports are being established in the state.
An international airport is being developed at Kushinagar located in the eastern region of the state while the second international airport - Noida International Airport is coming up in Jewar, in the NCR.
Zurich Airport International AG has been selected as the developer of this airport. He said that the State Government is providing full support for the construction of this project. Chief Minister said that there are immense possibilities of tourism in Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Prayagraj etc. are pilgrimage sites in the state. From the point of view of eco-tourism, many beautiful places, rich historical heritage, and diverse culture attract tourists. The successful event of Prayagraj Kumbh-2019 was appreciated in the country and abroad.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the entire country united and faced Covid-19 successfully. The relief was provided to the industry through the self-sufficient India package in the Corona period. As a result, a large number of employment opportunities were created in this sector.
The Ambassador of Switzerland hailed the Chief Minister for excellent Covid management and said that under his leadership, an investment-friendly atmosphere has been created in the state. He assured full cooperation in the development of Noida International Airport.
The Swiss diplomat also praised the work of providing the Covid-19 vaccine by India to other countries. He said that all of India, including Uttar Pradesh, has a rich cultural heritage. The citizens of Switzerland who have come to the state have been greatly impressed by the hospitality here and therefore, a large number of Swiss citizens want to visit Uttar Pradesh as tourists.
