Suspended Deputy SP Amresh Singh Baghel Arrested In Barabanki

Barabanki, Sep 30 (TNA) Suspended deputy SP Amresh Singh Baghel, accused in the infamous Atul Rai victimised incident has been arrested by the Varanasi Police. He was taken into custody by a team of the Crime Branch, belonging to Varanasi Police, at the haidergarh toll plaza.

He is being currently interrogated by the Crime branch team, an official said. The police officer is accused of siding with the BSP leader Atul Rai in a matter pertaining to the rape of a girl, who in the end committed suicide outside the Supreme Court.

Former IPS Amitabh Thakur has also been indicted by a SIT in this matter and is currently in jail.
