Students Protesting Fee Hike At BHU Created Ruckus, Gherao VC’s Vehicle
Varanasi, April 6 (TNA) Students protesting against fee hike in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on Wednesday gheraoed the Vice Chancellor's vehicle and had a clash with the security personnel who had to struggle to get the VC’s car out safely. The students have accused the security personnel of assault.
The students wanted to meet the Vice-Chancellor and submit a memorandum. but when they did not get an audience, the students gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor, who was going out from the office to his residence.
It is alleged that an attempt was made to break the windscreen of the Vice Chancellor's vehicle.
Students of graduate courses who are protesting say that suddenly the fees have been increased by Rs 400 per annum. In such a situation, it is certain that the fee can also be increased by Rs 10,000 in the coming days. The students had give the deadline of April 2 to thrash out a solution, failing which they acted today.
