STF Arrests Prime Accused In Killing Of Prominent Prayagraj Doctor AK Bansal

Prayagraj, August 25 (TNA) The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police nabbed the main accused in the murder of prominent city doctor Dr AK Bansal. The accused Alok Sinha had been on the run ever since the killing of Bansal, who was shot dead in his own chamber on January 12, 2017. The police had announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on the killer.

According to STF sources Sinha had given a contract of Rs 70 lakh to shooters to bump of the doctor. The shooter had been arrested by the police a few months back and he had spilled the beans, naming Alok Sinha as the main accused. He also told the cops that Sinha was angry at Dr Bansal as he had got his sons sent to jail in an admission case.

Killing of Dr. AK Bansal, owner of Jeevan Jyoti Nursing Home, Rambagh has sent shock waves in the city in 2017. After a hot pursuit of four and a half years, the STF had arrested the shooter - Shoaib, in April this year.

Deputy SP (STF) Navendu Singh informed that the STF Prayagraj unit led by Inspector Keshav Rai arrested Alok Sinha along with the team on Wednesday from Parade Ground in Keedganj. He had come to meet someone in a Fortuner car.

During interrogation, he told that while running coaching in Ghaziabad, he had become acquainted with big private medical colleges. He had taken Rs 55 lakhs for the admission of Bansal's son Arpit in DM Nephrology.

According to Alok, when he could not get the admission done, Bansal put pressure on him to get the money back. When he could not return the money, he was sent to jail after an FIR was registered in the Civil Lines police station.

In jail, Alok met several criminals, including two enemies of Bansal -- Dilip Mishra and Akhtar Katra. Dileep talked to Akhtar Katra and provided the shooters. The shooters were given Rs 70 lakhs and Bansal was gunned down in his own chamber.
