Speeding SUV Runs Over Five Sleeping On Varanasi's Roadside

VARANASI || A speeding SUV ran over five people in Varanasi on Sunday morning, critically wounding three, police said. The incident happened near the Padmashree intersection of the Bhelupur police station area.

In this, 5 people sleeping on the roadside were injured, who have been admitted to private hospitals including BHU's Trauma Center. Angry people beat up the driver and also vandalized the car.

After much persuasion, the driver and the car were handed over to the police. Of the five injured, three are women, one man and an infant.

All the injured were admitted to the nearest private hospital and the trauma center of BHU. The condition of 3 is said to be critical. The slum people beat the driver driving the car fiercely. SUV car also vandalized.
