Six Lose Eyesight After Cataract Operation In Kanpur, CMO Orders Probe

Kanpur, Nov 22 (TNA) The Chief medical officer (CMO) of Kanpur has ordered a probe into an eye camp in the city in which six persons who were operated for cataract have lost their vision. According to reports, the six patients who have suffered eye blindness had been running from pillar to post for the past many days and it was only now that the CMO has ordered an investigation.

The camp held at Aradhya nursing home was conducted under the DBCS scheme and a ceratin Dr Neeraj Gupta had performed the procedures. An official said the CMO Alok Ranjan first got the patients examined at Kanshiram hospital and then in view of the seriousness of the matter has constituted a probe committee.
