Six Killed, Two Injured In Road Mishap On Jaunpur-Prayagraj Highway

Jaunpur, February 26 (TNA) Six persons were killed and two critically injured in the wee hours on Monday when a roadways bus and a tractor trolley collided head on on the Jaunpur-Prayagraj highway. Additional Superintendent of Police told media persons that seven labourers who were building houses on the Jaunpur-Prayagraj Highway near Samadhganj market under Sikra police station were on the tractor trolley.

When the roadways bus coming from Prayagraj hit the tractor trolley it lost balance and turtled. On receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Sikrara police station rushed to the accident spot and oversaw the rescue and relief operation.

The injured were sent to CHC Machlishahr for treatment. The bodies have been sent for autopsy and families of the deceased have been informed of the tragedy.
