Six Killed In Ballia Road Mishap, Eight Injured

Ballia, February 27 (TNA) Six persons were killed and eight others injured when a speeding pickup vehicle hit two jeeps coming from the front in the intervening night of MondayTuesday, police said. There was an outcry on the spot after the vehicles collided head-on.

The mishap took place in front of Sughar Chhapra village under Dokati police station. Locals took all the injured to Sonbarsa and District Hospital where doctors confirmed the death of 6 people. Eight people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment. The dead include two children.

The people riding the jeep were returning to their homes after attending Tilak's program. According to Ballia SP, Dev Ranjan Verma, "Six people were killed and several others injured in an accident between two cars and a pickup truck around 3-3:30 am in the Bairia area. The victims were returning by car from the function.
