Seven Killed, A Dozen Injured In Mishap In UP's Sambhal

Lucknow, July 19 (TNA) Seven people were killed and a dozen injured, some critically in a road mishap in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh a little after midnight, police said on Monday.

The accident happened on the National Highway in Lehrawan village falling under the Bahjoi police station area when an uncontrolled bus rammed into a bus parked on the side of the road due to a flat tyre.

Police reached the spot and sent all the injured at the Bahjoi CHC, while the bodies of the dead were sent for postmortem after completing necessary formalities. According to the police, all the deceased were residents of village Chhapra of district Sambhal.

The ill-fated bus was returning from a wedding ceremony when it got a flat tire. They were repairing the tire on the roadside when a speeding bus rammed into it from the rear.
