Services Of Amitabh Thakur And Two Other IPS Officials Of The UP Cadre Terminated By The MHA

Lucknow, March 23 (TNA) Services of three Indian Police Service (IPS) officials of the Uttar Pradesh cadre were terminated by the union ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Tuesday, an official said. The three cops, a communique said, were found to be "unfit to continue in the service" and were hence being forcibly retired after screening by the MHA.

The three officials whose services have been cut short include Amitabh Thakur (IG Rules and Manual), Rajesh Krishna (Commandant of the 10th battalion Barabanki) and Rajesh Shankar (DIG Establishment).

Thakur has been perpetually in news for being a whistleblower, most prominently taking on the Samajwadi Party (SP) founder and former UP chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for threatening him on phone and taking up many other causes.

Rajesh Krishna has been accused of a scam in the police recruitment in Azamgarh while Rajesh Shankar has been shrouded for his role in Deoria shelter home episode.
