Senior IAS Ajay Singh Dies In Varanasi After Suffering A Cardiac Arrest

Lucknow, December 5 (TNA) Tragedy struck the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy on Saturday as senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Ajay Singh passed away in Varanasi.

He was secretary of the National Integration department and had gone to Varanasi as the observer of the just concluded MLC elections of the graduate constituency.

He had fainted during duty on Friday and had been rushed to a medical facility where he was diagnosed having suffered a cardiac attack. He continued to be in serious condition ever since and he breathed his last at 9:30 am on Saturday morning.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath led senior officials in his 'Team 11' meeting mourned the untimely demise of Singh and extended their condolences to the bereaved family.

He was a 1988 batch IAS officer. His wife Neena Sharma is also an IAS officer in UP.
