Salary Of Three Poor Tax Collecting Officials Of Lucknow Municipal Corporation Stopped

Lucknow, February 2 (TNA) Acting tough on officials responsible for poor tax collection in their respective zones, the Lucknow Municipal Commissioner has ordered the stopping of their salaries, an official informed.

For the development of the city and maintenance of civic amenities, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation discharges its responsibilities by collecting house tax, its main source.

As per the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner, the collection of house tax is reviewed continuously on daily basis.

In the same sequence on February 1, it was found that in the wards of certain tax inspectors, there has been zero or less than Rs one thousand income, which reflects that no efforts were made by the said tax inspectors to collect house tax, the official stated further.

The revenue inspectors who made zero or less than one thousand recovery include Revenue Inspector Category-1 Raja Bhaiya (Zero Income) of Ward Maulviganj in Zone-1, Revenue Inspector Category-1 Subodh Verma (income of Rs. 240) of Ward Ambedkar Nagar in Zone-2 and Revenue Inspector Category-1 of Ward Labor Colony in Zone-2 Vivek Kumar Singh (income of Rs. 927).
