Robbers Who Spilled Nails And Then Waylaid Vehicles With Flat Tyres On Agra-Lucknow E-Way Arrested By Mainpuri Police

MAINPURI || The Mainpuri Police on Monday busted an inter-district gang which was operating on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Their modus-operandi was first to spill nails on the expressway and then the moment the occupants of the vehicle would come out, they would rob them.

Weapons, cartridges, screw driver and hammers were also recovered from the arrested gang members.On the intervening night of October 5-6 a person - Prakash Shukla, was passing through the e-way, when he was waylaid near Karnal in Mainpuri. He was robbed of Rs 35,000 in cash, his mobile was looted as well.

The SP has announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for the police team that cracked the case and brought the guilty to justice.

When the matter was brought to the notice of the police, the district police chief Ajay Kumar put a SWAT team and a surveillance team on the job to trace the robbers. As the investigation progressed, their was a tip-off that some persons were standing at the Nagla Vyasaram on the same highway with the intention of robbing vehicles.

Police soon zeroed in on them and there was a brief exchange of fire after which three criminals were nabbed. They hail from Jasrana town in neighbouring Firozabad district and have bene identified as Brijesh, Ram Kumar and Rishi Yadav. The SP has announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for the police team that cracked the case and brought the guilty to justice.
