Robber Duo Involved In 17 Kg-Gold-Loot From An Outlet In Agra Shot Dead In Police Encounter

Agra, July 18 (TNA) Two criminals, part of the gang, who carried out a heist at the Mannapuram Gold outlet in Agra on Saturday were shot dead by the Police a little after midnight, an official said.

Rajiv Krishna, ADG (Zone) told reporters that six teams had been formed soon after the dacoity took place and the robbers decamped with 157 kg of gold worth crores and Rs 5 lakh in cash.

A brief gun battle ensued and the robber-duo were injured. They succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Based on CCTV footage analysis and electronic surveillance, the teams got whiff that two of the criminals were going on the Etmadpur-Khandauli Marg and they were intercepted by a team of cops there.

The ADG said gold worth Rs 5 crore and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash had been recovered from them and the rest of the police teams were in hot pursuit of the other three who were still at large. The Agra police managed to get the first success in Horus of the crime being conducted.
