Robber Arrested After Gun Battle With Gorakhpur Police

Gorakhpur, August 21 (TNA) A criminal was arrested after a brief gun battle with the police in Gorakhpur on Saturday morning. The hardened criminal Sikander was wanted in the Rs 5 lakh loot he had executed on August 16 near the Ramgarh lake.

According to a police officials, when surrounded by the police on Saturday, Sikander opened fire on the cops and in retaliatory fire, he was injured and arrested.

The police has recovered Rs 1.5 lakh, the vehicle used in the crime and an illegal countryside weapon from him. He had robbed a vash collector of Rs 5 lakh five days back.
